Early Life and Education

Madhurendra Kumar was born in 1994 in Barwa Kala village, East Champaran, Bihar. His father, Shiv Kumar Sah, was a farmer, and his mother, Gena Devi, was a homemaker. From a young age, Madhurendra developed an interest in creating figures with sand and clay. He often practiced his art near the Arun River in his village. He completed his early education in East Champaran and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree from the Ancient Art Centre in Chandigarh.

CareerMadhurendra began creating clay and sand figures as a child and later transitioned to large-scale sand art. His works often feature national leaders, deities, and social messages, focusing on issues like environmental protection, women’s empowerment, voter awareness, and anti-drug campaigns. He has participated in sand art festivals in several countries, including India, Sri Lanka, the USA, Bhutan, Russia, Japan, and Thailand.
